Diesel generator set is a kind of power generation equipment. Its principle is that the engine burns diesel oil, converts heat energy into mechanical energy, and then drives the generator to cut magnetic field through engine rotation, and then generates electric energy. Its use mainly includes the following five aspects:
1. Self-provided power supply. Some units without power supply, such as islands far from the mainland, remote pastoral areas, rural areas, barracks, workstations and radar stations on desert plateau, need to configure their own power supply. The so-called self-contained power supply is the self-used power supply. In the case of low power generation, diesel generating units often become the choice of self-contained power supply.
2. Standby power supply. The main purpose is that although some power utilities have relatively stable and reliable power supply, in order to prevent unexpected situations, such as circuit failure or temporary power outage, they can still be configurable as emergency power generation. Power utilities using power supply generally have higher requirements for power supply guarantee, even one minute to one second power outage. Neither of them is allowed. It is necessary to replace it with emergency standby power generation at the moment of power supply termination. Otherwise, it will cause large losses in the area. These units include some traditional high-power supply security units, such as hospitals, mines, power plants, factories using electric heating equipment, etc. In recent years, network power supply has become a new growth point of the demand for standby power supply, such as telecom operators, banks, airports, command centers, databases, expressways, high-level guests. Because of the use of network management, these units are increasingly becoming the main use of standby power supply.
3. Substitute power supply. The function of alternative power supply is to make up for the shortage of power supply. There may be two situations, one is that the price of power grid is too high, and diesel generators are chosen as alternative power sources from the perspective of cost saving; the other is that under the condition of insufficient supply of power grid, the use of power grid is limited, and the power supply department has to pull the brakes everywhere to limit the power supply. At this time, in order to produce and work normally, the power users need to use diesel generators. Substitute power supply for relief. In recent years, several sales quotations of diesel generator products in China, such as national sales in the first half of the 1980s, sales in South China in the early 1990s, and sales in East China in 2003-2004, are all due to national and regional power shortages. In order to cope with large-scale power cut-off, various power utilities have purchased one after another. Diesel generators are used as alternative power sources.
4. Mobile power supply. Mobile power is a power generation facility that has no fixed place to use and is transferred everywhere. Diesel generator set has become the choice of mobile power supply because of its handiness, flexibility and easy operation. Mobile power supply is generally designed as a form of power vehicles, including self-powered vehicles and trailer power vehicles. Most of the power units using mobile power supply have the nature of mobile work, such as oil field, geological exploration, field engineering exploration, camping, mobile command post, train, ship, freight container power compartment (warehouse), military mobile weapon equipment power supply, and some mobile power supply has the nature of emergency power supply. For example, emergency power supply vehicles, water supply vehicles, engineering emergency vehicles and emergency repair vehicles in urban power supply departments.
Fifth, fire power supply. Fire-fighting generators are mainly equipped for building fire-fighting equipment. Once a fire happens, the city electricity is cut off. Generators constitute the power source of fire-fighting equipment. With the spread of fire-fighting law, the domestic real estate fire-fighting power supply will have a huge potential for development of a very large market.
It can be seen that the above four uses of diesel generating units are produced in response to different stages of social development. Among them, self-provided power supply and alternative power supply are the power demand caused by backward construction of power supply facilities or insufficient power supply capacity, which is the focus of market demand in the initial stage of social and economic development. The demand of power supply and mobile power supply is the focus of market demand at the stage of social and economic development because of the increasing demand for power supply guarantee and the expanding scope of power supply. Therefore, if we look at the market use of diesel generator products from the perspective of social development, we can say that it is self-contained power supply and alternative power supply. Its transitional use, and as standby power supply and mobile power supply is its long-term use, especially fire power supply as a huge potential market demand, will slowly release.
As power generation equipment, diesel generating units have some different advantages: 1) relatively small size, flexible and convenient, easy to move. (2) Easy to operate and control. (3) Energy raw materials (fuel) are widely available. (4) Less one-time investment. Quick start-up, fast power supply and fast power stop. _The power supply is stable, and the quality of power supply can be improved through technical improvement. _The load can be directly supplied point to point. _It is less affected by various natural climate and geographical environment, and can generate electricity all day.
Because of these advantages, diesel generators are considered to be the preferred form of standby and emergency power supply. At present, although there are many other means to solve the standby and emergency power supply, such as UPS and dual-circuit power supply, it can not replace the role of diesel generating units. In addition to price factors, the main reason is that diesel generating units as standby and emergency power supply have higher reliability than UPS and dual-circuit power supply.
